As the Cincinnati Opera prepares to celebrate its 90th anniversary with a masterful Wagner comedy. Evans Mirageas, takes us back to the earliest days of music in the Queen City when singing was all the rage. From the beer hall melodies of our German ancestors to the choral societies of our English antecedents and the rich tradition of the African-American spiritual, the Ohio River Valley was awash in song. Evans will chronicle these rich musical traditions of the city in anecdote and performance.

Indulge your senses with music and an extensive assortment of homemade chocolates, horsd'oeuvres, gourmet springerle cookies from Queen City Cookies and champagne provided by hostess Peggy Shannon. Her beautifully renovated historic home is one of the three remaining Jergens' mansion in Northside.

You've seen his photographs in major publications including: Life, Time, Smithsonian, National Geographic Traveler and Cincinnati Magazine. He has taught photography at Northern Kentucky University and frequently lectures on historic preservation. Bob, pulisher of several books, will share his insights about the art of bookmaking.

Mark Godsey, Director of the Ohio Innocence Project, is internationally known for his ongoing struggle to examine potential miscarriages of justice. A popular presenter at a past Salon. Professor Godsey has appeared on Larry King Live, Dateline NBC, CNN, Court TV, NPR and A & E's American Justice and he has been quoted in the New York Times, Newsweek, People Magazine and The Wall Street Journal. He has also been consulted by novelist John Grisham. In addition to discussing some of the fascinating cases on which he has worked, he will be joined by an individual who was exonerated due to the work of The Innocence Project.

Hosts Lou Billionis, Dean of UC's Collge of Law, and Ann Hubbard will serve tasty appetizers and beverages in their historic Italianate home known as "Greenhills".

Spend a "sense"sational afternoon with the cool-hot sultry sounds of the "Iconic Jazz Couple". Ed's improvisations at the piano have been complemented by Pam's vocals for a decade. Wheather they work as a duo, a trio, or with Mr. Moss' eight piece Society Jazz Orchestra, Ed and Pam not only perform jazz, they live it!

There is no finer place for a concert than the Billmire's home, de  signed around a fully restored and installed Robert Morton theater organ. The two-story great room, that overlooks a wooded valley, houses the organ and a Hamilin grand  piano. Have a glass of wine or beer, a few luscious hors d'oeuvres and desserts and you will be in music heaven!

Most of  her favorite foods began with the letter P. How many can you name? 

"Bishop's Place", a 19th century castle, designed by architect James W. McLaughlin, sits on the highest point of the Lafayette Avenue promontory with views in all directions. Jakki and Len Haussler have meticulously restored their home and grounds. Just a few of the many features are the enlarged "Rathskeller", a movie theater and period furnishings. As one of Cincinnati's most colorful personalities, he professes to be an "Olympic caliber procrastinator" but he promises to show-up in time for this Salon.

While he will discuss all the work of 3CDC, particular focus will be given to Over the Rhine and the changes underway. Following the presentation, an optional walking tour will take you to newly renovated condos, locally owned stores and restaurants, SPCA and other arts destinations.
